Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated team players to join our fun loving and compassionate hospital staff.

Our 10,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art small animal referral and emergency hospital is located on beautiful Cape Cod, Massachusetts. CCVS is the only referral and emergency hospital serving Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard and currently includes specialists in surgery, cardiology, ophthalmology, radiology, internal medicine, Veterinary Rehabilitation as well as emergency veterinarians.

Our hospital is well equipped with digital radiography, color flow doppler ultrasound, ECG telemetry, oxygen cages, central ICU/CCU nursing station and trauma room, and complete in-house laboratory. There are 2 surgical suites fully equipped for all soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurologic procedures. We provide continuing education for veterinarians and technicians through didactic teaching, seminars, and hands-on laboratories.

Emergency Critical Care Department Head

South Dennis, MA

The ECC Department Head is responsible for providing support to the Nursing and Medical Directors by ensuring appropriate staffing for the best possible patient care. A detailed and thorough knowledge base in Veterinary Medicine and Physiology and the ability to communicate this knowledge through teaching is the key function of this individual. The Department Head should consistently contribute to a spirit of pride and excitement in that each employee is part of a team practicing excellent medicine with a high standard of patient, client and RDVM care.

This position requires at least five years of veterinary hospital experience preferably in an emergency and critical care facility with a minimum of two years leadership experience.  Position requires current CVT, LVT certification ACVECCT certification preferred or willingness and ability to obtain.  Must be professional with the ability to multi-task and solve problems efficiently. Candidates must be fluent in hospital operations, including telephone operations, services and fees, estimates, patient care, specialty services, and general hospital flow.

Client Care Associate/Hospital Assistant

Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists (CCVS) is a growing specialty and emergency, critical care hospital with locations in Bourne and Dennis, Massachusetts. Our 24/7 hospitals strive to practice a high standard of care in a compassionate and engaging environment. We are seeking a Client Care Associate (CCA)/Hospital Assistant (HA) to add to our team at both locations.

Responsibilities of the CCA/HA will include, but are not limited to, providing customer service in a polite and timely manner, able to answer multiple phone lines, handle stressful and emotional situations, scheduling appointments, invoicing clients and processing payments, as well as, perform closing of drawer and deposit procedures, maintaining an orderly and clean lobby, and facilitating all necessary paperwork through appropriate steps. The CCA/HA should be able to assist the nursing staff when needed. All employees at CCVS should consistently contribute to a spirit of pride and excitement in that each employee is part of a team practicing excellent medicine with a high standard of patient, client, and referring veterinarian care.

Qualifications:

  • Professional, pleasant, engaged, clear communicator who is attentive and respectful to referring veterinarians, clients, and co-workers.
  • Must be able to multi task and work independently.
  • Computer experience (Excel, Word) and operation of office equipment such as, fax machine, copy machine, credit card and check terminal, and postage meter.
  • Related veterinary software and Care Credit knowledge preferred.
  • Must possess basic math skills to determine proper deposits and process payments
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and willing to learn basic nursing skills.

Required experience:

  • Customer Service: 3 years
  • Experience of at least 2 years in a veterinary hospital.

CCVS is looking for CVT or equivalent technicians at our well-equipped emergency and referral hospital.

All participants must attend mandatory training sessions. Notification may be an hour to a few weeks in advance for Evening, Weekend or Holiday shifts in need of coverage.
